Welcome to the San Antonio Writers Guild (SAWG)Welcome to the San Antonio Writers Guild (SAWG)

The San Antonio Writers Guild is an organization of writers of all kinds and all levels of experience. Our purpose is to share information among all writers and help each other grow in our craft. Through contests, critique and other communication we are a friendly, invaluable fellowship.

COME TO A MEETING

A best first step for any new or established writer, whether you are new to the San Antonio area or have lived here for a long time, is to come to our first-Thursday-of-every-month meeting. There you will find advice, support and encouragement from like-minded people in your area. Each meeting offers workshops, programs and the chance at making new friends, acquaintances and possibly some valuable connections in the industry. Well, it could happen.

Come one, come all, to the March 13th SAWG Write-In!

The doors open at Bethany Congregational Church (our usual meeting place) at 8:00 a.m. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. The first writing session begins at 9 a.m., though some people start early. The write-in ends around noon or 1 p.m.

The writing sessions will be broken up every 50 minutes or so for an opportunity to stretch your legs (and fingers and backs), snack, solicit feedback and smooze around with your fellow writers.

Cost is $10 per person (SAWG members) for a morning of quality writing time.

Bring pen, paper, laptop, quills, ink--whatever--just come prepared to write! Write on your current novel, start something new, bring something to revise. It's a great time to get things done without interruptions from family.

There is a special energy when a group of people get together and write. Call it karma, call it atmosphere, call it vibes...whatever it is, come and take advantage of it!

Sharpen your pencils, flex your typing fingers and get ready to make some serious headway on your current WIP (work in progress)!

See you all on Saturday!
